School finance printouts for 2011-12 and 2012-13

Printouts are available that show the amount of state funding (and the dollar amount and percentage reduction from previous funding levels) that each Texas school district and charter school should expect to receive in the upcoming biennium.

The attachment to this page (see "State funding to school districts for 2011-12 / 2012-13" below) contains a printout of the state funding and the level of cuts that apply to school districts in 2011-12 and 2012-13 under SB 1 (2011 special session). The printout was based on a previous version of the bill, but is accurate with regard to the school finance model that eventually passed, with the following minor exceptions.

  1. An amendment to the bill that applies to about 220 districts has the effect of giving them $2 more per student for the 2011-12 year than is reflected here. That funding change is small enough to not affect the percentages provided in the printout.
  2. Another amendment allows some districts – about 150 statewide – to apply to have their funding smoothed out over the two-year period. It does not affect the total amount of their reduction, only their cash flow. Since this would be done upon request, there is no way to include that provision in the printout.
