SBEC renewal notices sent electronically

Virtual Certificate – Official Certificate Record: The virtual certificate found online is the official certificate record. Effective Sept. 1, 2010, hard copies of the certificate will no longer be automatically printed and mailed to the certificate holder after submitting a certificate application. The certificate application will have a field where the individual may request a hard copy.  To print the virtual certificate, the individual can login to his/her SBEC account at www.sbec.state.tx.us by clicking on the "SBEC Online for Educators" link at the top of the home page, or click on the "Official Record of Educator Certificates" link also found at the top of the home page.

Certificate Renewal Notification:  Effective Sept. 1 2010, educators who hold a standard certificate will receive a renewal reminder by e-mail six months prior to the certificate expiration date. It is of utmost importance for the educator to check his/her SBEC account/profile to be sure that a current e-mail address has been provided.
