2011-12 student assessment calendar
Beginning in the 2011-12 school year, a new generation of tests will replace the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) at most grade levels. The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) will be used for grades 3-8 and for the 12 end-of-course (EOC) assessments. Students who are 9th graders in the 2011-12 school year will be the first class required to meet EOC testing requirements in order to graduate, while grade 10-12 students in the 2011-12 school year will continue to take the TAKS.
