Art is more than pretty pictures — it's cross-disciplinary education. In this video, 2013 Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year finalist Ronelle Howell, university art instructor turned elementary art teacher, will show you how K-12 students can use visual arts to build skills for college and the workforce, expand their vocabulary, discover culture and history, combine imagination and scientific observation, and exercise critical thinking and mathematical reasoning.
