The Texas Classroom Teachers Association (TCTA) wishes to protect the privacy of those who visit our website. The following provides explanations of how provided information will be used by TCTA. We wish to assure visitors to our website that no personal or provided information will be sold.
TCTA maintains email addresses and other personally identifiable information provided by our members. Personally identifiable information may be collected from other persons who voluntarily submit such information to us. This information will be used to customize information and provide notification of services by email or other means. You will be provided a simple mechanism to indicate that you wish not to continue to receive such email. The information may be provided to vendors with affinity program agreements that provide services or products to TCTA members or persons eligible for TCTA membership. Such information will be provided only if you have requested that TCTA provide the information to the vendors or only upon an agreement by the vendors that they will provide a simple mechanism to indicate that you wish not to receive information from them.
This site is not directed to children. TCTA does not attempt to collect personally identifiable information from children. TCTA cannot always determine that a user is a child. If children do send personal information to TCTA in a manner that identifies that the information comes from a child, such as writing to request information for a school project, the information will be deleted.
We may use IP addresses (the numerical address of your computer) to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Credit Card Transactions
When our registration/order form asks users to enter credit card information, it is encrypted and is protected with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which is accepted as the industry standard for encryption of confidential information. This is a protocol that is set up to prevent unauthorized people from seeing the information that is submitted. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just "surfing." Credit card transactions are processed by VeriSign, which has confidentiality of transactions covered by VeriSign’s TRUSTe privacy program.
Concerns or requests relating to the use of personally identifiable information by this site should be directed to TCTA’s webmaster.
