Pam Allison
Retired Music Teacher
Honey Elementary
Lubbock ISD

Pam Allison, a former music teacher at Honey Elementary, is the 2012-13 TCTA Retiree of the Year. TCTA annually presents its Retiree of the Year Award to honor a recently retired TCTA member who has given outstanding service to education, students, the community and the association during his or her career.

Allison, who retired in 2010 after 28 years of teaching in Lubbock ISD, was nominated by TCTA's Lubbock local affiliate for her continued involvement in the district and Lubbock CTA.

“Although she is retired, she has stayed active with our teaching profession by substituting and teaching piano,” the nomination stated. “She has shown a continuous commitment to meeting the goals of our association while employing her talents in the classroom.”

Allison taught pre-K through 6th grade music at Honey Elementary from 1985 to 2010. She also taught at Stubbs Elementary from 1974 to 1976. She has been a TCTA member for 28 years.

TCTA honored Allison and other award winners Jan. 24, 2013, at an awards banquet during the TCTA Convention in Austin. Watch video of Allison accepting the award.
