Summary: Expands current laws regarding the use of epinephrine injectors to include asthma medicine. Allows districts, charters and private schools to adopt a policy authorizing a school nurse to maintain and administer asthma medicine, upon written consent from a parent that also confirms that the student has been diagnosed with asthma. Requires that the medicine be stored in a secure location easily accessible to the nurse. The policy cannot require the district or school to purchase medication or require any other expenditure related to the maintenance or administration of asthma medicine.
