Summary: Requires TEA to develop procedures to audit and monitor districts to ensure compliance with requirements for screening for dyslexia and related disorders and reading diagnosis programs. The audit would include identifying problems districts have in complying with program requirements and developing strategies to address noncompliance. Districts must notify parents of students with or at risk of dyslexia or a related disorder of the program maintained by the Texas State Library that allows students with reading disabilities to borrow audiobooks for free.
