The Texas Legislature adjourned “sine die” Monday afternoon, concluding the 2019 legislative session. The top priorities for state leadership – the state budget (SB 1), school finance reform (HB 3), and property tax reform (SB 2) – were approved by both the House and Senate over the weekend.

TCTA is preparing a more detailed analysis of the school finance/teacher salary bill, HB 3, along with summaries of the more than 120 education-related bills that are either headed to the governor’s desk or have already been signed into law.

This will be the last of the daily Capitol Updates for this session. Our weekly emailed eUpdates will return to the regular non-session bi-weekly schedule.
